On November 19, 2003 there was a benefit auction at Christie’s in New York for the Tibet House NY.
２００３年１１月１９日、ニューヨークのオークションハウス、クリスティーズにて、チベットハウスのためのベネフィットオークションが行われました。It was hosted by Uma Thurman, David Bowie, Iman, Christine Turlington, Edward Burns, and the yoga gurus, Sharon Gannon and David Life. The partial profit would be donated to the Tibetan chidren’s village in Dharamsala, India. Many celebrities such as Donna Karan, Robert DeNiro donated their goods for the auction. I donated my “free-Tibet-Totebag” and it was bid at a very good price! Todd English from Olive was in charge of the catering. It was a fabulous night with lots of champainge, the riches and famous. I am so glad that I was able to contribute something for the Tibetan kids in exile.
資金の一部はチベット難民孤児に贈られました。この日の主催者は、女優のウマサーマンや、デビッドボウイ、スーパーモデルのイマ－ンやクリスティーンターリントン、俳優のエドワードバーンズ、そして世界的に知られるヨガグルーのシャロンギャノンとデイビッドライフたち。そしてダナキャランやロバートデ二－ロなどの多くのセレブたちがオークションに出品しました。 私も毎年行われるこのオークションをお手伝いし始めてから数年たちます。今年はオリジナルデザインの「フリーチベット」のトートバッグを寄付しました。お蔭様で５人のアメリカ人女性の間で接戦となり、指定通りの値段で落札されました！
無限に注がれるシャンパンと今最も注目されているスターシェフ、トッドイングリッシュのお料理、沢山のお金持ちたちとセレブで賑わう、華やかな一夜でした。私も少しですが、チベット難民孤児の役に立てて嬉しかったです。
